It's that time of year again...time to start thinking about preparation for the spring lacrosse season!
The Notre Dame Academy Varsity Lacrosse Team is thrilled to be hosting our 5th Annual February Vacation Youth Lacrosse Clinic for girls in grades 3-8 at the Cohasset Sports Complex. The clinic spends a lot of time improving the craftiness of our stickwork, learning key individual skills, and developing better field awareness and game strategy. NDA lacrosse is excited about the opportunity to work with aspiring lacrosse players in our area!! Former PRYL player and current U of Florida freshman Isabella O'Connor is a former Notre Dame Academy player. Clinic Details: February 16, 17, and 18, 2015 Cohasset Sports Complex (34 Crocker Lane, Cohasset, MA 02025) 2:00 p.m.- 5:00 p.m. Girls Grades 3-8 Cost: $75.00 per player
This year we are thrilled to announce that a portion of our clinic proceeds will benefit the One Love Foundation. Yeardley Love was a former University of Virginia women's lacrosse player who was the victim of relationship violence. The foundation's mission is to end relationship violence through education and technology.
Walk-up registrations are welcome! Please feel free to contact Meredith Frank, Head Coach, NDA Varisty Lacrosse via email or phone (see below) with any questions!
If players don't have any vacation plans, the NDA staff would love to work with them! If players are only around for a day or two and want to get some lacrosse in before leaving for vacation, the NDA staff would love to have them at a pro-rated fee! All are welcome!
Thanks so much and we look forward to another successful clinic!! Meredith Frank, Ali Winslow and the NDA Lacrosse Team
Although team practices do not start until March, the season starts NOW! This is the time that you should be breaking out the stick, dusting it off, and getting the cobwebs out. It's time to start working on you individual stick skills, so you are ready to go when the season starts. The biggest obstacle we face as coaches is having to spend too much time on stick skills and not enough time teaching you how to play the game of lacrosse.
So, while there is still no snow on the ground, let's get going with some WALL BALL drills. All you need is a wall, a stick, your lacrosse gloves, a ball and about 20 minutes. Find a brick or concrete wall with no windows nearby. You chimney at your house might be a good spot, or go to one of the local schools. PCIS has a great wall ball wall where the gym is.
Click Here to go to the Coaches Corner and check out some great Wall Ball drills to get you started!
Also, keep an eye on the Coaches Corner throughout the season for more drills and info on tactics and strategies. I am hoping to make this a great resource for learning the game for both Parents and Players.
PRYL has change credit card processing companies. When registering your son or daughter, you can now choose to pay only the $50 deposit or the entire registration fee. Our web hosting company could not support partial payment options with our former processor, PayPal.
If your families account now has an outstanding registration fee balance, due to the either electing to pay only the deposit or due tot he previous processor issues, you can now able make partial or full payments. To make payments on outstanding balances simply go to www.plymouthrocklacrosse.com and click on the "Edit My Account" in the menu on the left side of the home page. You will need to input your email address used when establishing your account and password.
The spring 2015 boys teams are filling up. We have reached the registration limit to fill one (1) team for each level (U9, U11, U13 & U15).
Our parent organization, Mass Bay Youth Lacrosse League (MBYLL) requires that PRYL register ALL teams and pay the fees by January 13, 2015. We cannot add teams after that date. At this point we can only fill the roster for ONE team at each level. If we do not reach the numbers necessary to fully field a second team by the January 10, 2015 we will be forced to only field a single team at each level.
